Getting the error message on outlook of “Your organizations policies are preventing us from completing this action for you. For more info, please contact your help desk” whenever I click on a hyper link within outlook I’ve tried the main 3 solutions Ive managed to find, Running a quick fix although this doesnt work with Win10 anyway , I’ve changed the defaults to IE and reset settings etc and imported the registry from someones that works but still to no avail I literally had this problem the other day.

None of the things you’ve done worked for me either. In the end I reinstalled Firefox or your browser of choice and let it set itself as the default on the first run. Opened outlook after and the issue had corrected itself.

Maybe give that a try? Also it doesn’t happen for everyone all of the time. Just seems to be one of those bugs We dont implement anything to block clicking links within outlook, this seems to only be effecting me.

K3nney, in Win 10 settings can you try setting IE as default then saving. Open Outlook. Then go back and set an alternative browser not Edge as the new default and restart Outlook. It took me a few combinations of faffing about to get Outlook to register the new settings.

Something else to try, because this issue is basically caused by the program defaults not registering properly, can you install a browser that is not currently installed at all on your system. For example if you don’t have Firefox, install it, or if you have all the main ones on there, try Vivaldi or Opera or something. Then set one of those to default and see if out look registers it correctly. Failing that uninstall all third party browsers, reboot and allow windows to select its default browser.

Finally reinstall either chrome or firefox to start again and hopefully that should sort it. PCS is an IT service provider. Same problem from Word Links won’t open. I am the administrator.
